An Amazing Series..

Monday, May 22nd, 2006

Well, unfortunately I’m writing this evening after watching my beloved Spurs in a heartbreaking overtime loss in game 7. The fact that we came back from 3-1, is amazing, but nonetheless it hurts. I suppose I take this game and this team to seriously, but as the years go by, I’ve come to learn to take the good with the bad. You can’t win them all, and lessons aren’t learned when things come to easy. Another season passes, and yet another season will come. I’m proud of my team, in my eyes, they’ll always be the best. Same time, same place next year; bet your ass I’ll be there… GO SPURS GO!

Series is at 3-2.. I still believe.. Do you?

Spurs lose..

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

In another game that has decreased my life expectancy; the Spurs lost game 4 against Dallas.  All I can say is that I’m disgusted.  We’re now down 3-1 in the series and only a handful of teams have ever come back from that deficit.  I haven’t lost all hope, but it’s safe to say it’s over..

Are we blogging yet?

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2006

The main reason I put up this blog, was to friggin’ blog on it! I keep finding myself contemplating what I should write about, instead of just writing. I’m going to make a concerted effort to blog more frequently rather than the occasional post. As of lately, life has been very good. Work is going well, and I should be changing positions soon. I really enjoy where I work and the people that I work with. However, it’s time for a change and I’ve been approached about doing something more challenging and I’m excited about the opportunity. It’s warmed up outside and I’ve taken back to running again with an aim to fulfill my original goal of running a marathon. We’ll see if that happens. You just don’t go out and run a marathon. It takes time and a lot of training. Patience with progression is the key to success. I live on White Rock Lake here in Dallas and there is a bike and running track that circles 12 miles around the entire lake. Perfect for training. My brother is bringing his bike up next week and is going to let me borrow it for awhile. I’ve been really wanting a bike because the location is great for it. I’ll finally get to put my ipod and camelback to some good use.

The NBA playoffs are going on right now and my Spurs are currently in the first round with Sacramento with the series at 2-2. I’m dogged all day at work for being a Spurs fan. But I won’t back down. After defeating Sacramento (I guarantee we’ll win), we’ll be facing Dallas. Don’t get me wrong, Dallas looks strong. Stronger than they’ve ever been, and our boys haven’t been playing their best basketball lately. I’m still convinced that no one can beat us in a 7 game series with home court advantage, and I stand by that. We’ll just have to wait and see. All I ask is that we please please beat Dallas in the next round. Otherwise, I might have to quit my job to save embarrassment.

Headed to Austin this weekend with Jennifer to visit some friends. No plans on what we’re going to do exactly, but I want to hit up the river for some swimming or tubing. The Horseshoe Lounge will definitely be visited for some late night shuffle board action, and then to Maria’s for some early morning super grub. Going to take some pictures for sure. ATX, here we come!

Spurs Win!

Friday, March 3rd, 2006

I arrived today at work with a box full of fresh donuts on my desk. I ate two glazed, one chocolate covered, and last but not least, a sprinkled covered one. Don’t you love it when life tastes sweet? I know I sure do. :P

Spurs vs Mavs

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

For those of you who don’t know, I’m a die-hard San Antonio Spurs fan. Unfortunately, I don’t live in San Antonio anymore and my time here in Dallas can be trying sometimes. The shit-talking has officially begun at work for the 3rd face-off between S.A. and Dallas this season. Like the previous two games, the losing team brings donuts to work the next day. Let me say this now, I WILL NOT be bringing donuts this Friday. Translation? Spurs will win, guaranteed..

Let me break it down like this.

  • Spurs = 3 Championships in 6 years.
  • Tim Duncan = 3 time Finals MVP
  • Greg Popavich = Coach of the year.
  • Deepest bench in the NBA.
  • And last but no least, the best fans in all of sports.

Dallas

  • Mavericks = No Championships.
  • Dirk Nowitzki = Will never be MVP.
  • Avery Johnson = The best thing the Mavericks will ever have.
  • Mark Cuban = Jackass. Enough said..
  • Maverick Fans = Blinded, confused, and soon to be heartbroken..

Ok ok, so I’m a little biased. But with the facts before you is there any question of who is the best? Didn’t think so..

R.I.P. Mavs
